Matham Pramod Kumar


Having completed my degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Madras), Chennai, in the year 2000, I worked as a Systems Engineer in Tata Consultancy Services, Hyderabad for a brief tenure. I left the software industry behind to pursue my interests in Indian Culture and spirituality.

I worked in collaboration with the International Forum for India’s Heritage (IFIH) as the National Coordinator, of which I am currently a Trustee.

I joined the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Deemed University), Coimbatore, in 2003 where I designed and executed a unique Cultural Education programme for undergraduate students. Presently, I teach Indian Culture to the undergraduate students at the Amrita School of Engineering.

I am also the Convenor of the Human Excellence Programme at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Coimbatore Kendra.

I also write for journals like Vedanta Kesari and web journals like Vijayvaani.com. I travel widely and frequently to talk to students about India’s cultural heritage.

Awards: Yuva Shakti Youth Achievers’ Award 2005 (Tamilnadu) for commitment and contribution to spreading awareness of India’s rich cultural heritage amongst the youth.

    I read with great interest your review of the “Ranganathananda Reader” in the June 2009 issue of “The Vedanta Kesari”. This prompted me to know more about you. Thus I landed on to your blog. I am very happy to know about the good work being done by you. I stay in Bangalore and work in the software field. I share a similar background as yours, my educational background is B.E (Elecctrical) and M. Sc (Computer Science).
